Chassis Assembly

Check to see if the Delrin axle boxes fit in the axle pockets on the chassis

  • Clean and check the edges of the axle pockets.
  • Ensure the axle boxes are free to move up and down freely. If not - file boxes and keeps.
Put the chassis on to its back.

Place the motor assembly in to place and check that the slot in the top of the motor mounts located and slides with the cross bar on the chassis. Ease with a file if it is stiff. Becareful not to trap wires while doing this as it is easy to damage cables at this stage.

Once you know the motor set will fit easily, tuck the wires out of the way and drop the motor sets in to the chassis. Lift one end and slide the axle keep frame over the axle box, then the 3mm spring support plate. With the axle lifted up about 15mm slide the spring in to place before dropping the axle. If necessary tap the 3mm plate on to the locating notch with a screw drive. Repeat the otherside before bolting into place with 4 x 15mm 5mm bolts and nuts.
