Battery Trays & Fixings

Saddle tanks and Shunter
  • 25mm angle iron tray is fitted as the space under the bonnet is pretty limited.
  • Designed for 063 round post or 085 flat post batteries
  • 22mm lip is large enough to stop batteries tipping over in normal use.
Y6 Tram and chassis only supply
  • As the tram body allows for batteries to be turned 90 deg, there is potential for larger batteries. For this reason we do not weld on a battery tray.
  • Use supplied angle iron to drill and bolt on edges to make a tray to suit your own batteries.

Strapping Down Batteries

  • While it is good practice and essential in cars, we do not expect you to turn you engine over of have negative g times like jumping a hump back bridge.
  • Our locomotives are designed to be run in the upright position. Putting rigid tie down bars can damage batteries in major accidents.
